What Is Group Therapy?

Group therapy is a therapist-led session with a small group (typically 6–10 participants) who meet weekly to focus on a shared theme or concern. Sessions may include:

  • Guided discussion

  • Skill-building exercises

  • Psychoeducation

  • Structured reflection

  • Supportive feedback from peers

Each group follows clear guidelines to ensure safety, confidentiality, and respect.

Benefits of Group Therapy

Participants often report:

  • Feeling less isolated

  • Gaining perspective from others’ experiences

  • Building communication and relational skills

  • Receiving support and accountability

  • Practicing new coping tools in real time

Research consistently shows group therapy can be as effective as individual therapy for many concerns and sometimes even more impactful due to peer connection.

What to Expect

  • Pre-group screening consultation

  • Clear expectations and confidentiality guidelines

  • Structured yet flexible sessions

  • A balance of sharing, learning, and skill development

Your comfort and psychological safety are prioritized at every stage. *
